A friendly environment for collectors.
A friendly environment for collectors.
As Cheltenham Philatelic Society, we have been around since 1947. From small beginnings – no guest speakers, a focus on stamps only, meetings in members’ homes – we have grown to be much more inclusive and, in our 75th anniversary year, changed our identity to Cheltenham Stamp & Postcard Club to reflect that growth. Postcards bring an added dimension to existing interests for members and are also becoming more interesting in their own right.
Since 1965 we have had over 200 speakers visit us and we enjoy regular reciprocal visits with other clubs in the region. Some of our members exhibit nationally and internationally, while others are experienced judges and committee members for philatelic authorities. Cheltenham has a rich legacy in philately, with a previous Chairman and authority on GB postmarks, Ron Alcock, also publishing the Philatelic Adviser from his Regent Street office from before the Second World War into the 1950s.
Whether your interests lie in collecting or learning more about stamps and postcards, or in accessing the wealth of collective expertise and knowledge amassed by our members, come along and visit one of our regular meetings in Prestbury.
